Cookie policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits. Similar technologies exist, such as the browser's local storage (localStorage), which lets a site keep data on your own device.

Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI) requires your consent before cookies are used, except for those strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for.

What PapeleoYa uses

PapeleoYa uses only strictly necessary technical cookies and local storage for your drafts. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies, or any third-party tracking tools. That is why you will not see a banner asking you to accept cookies.

Technical cookies

CookiePurposeWho it applies toDuration
Admin sessionKeeps PapeleoYa staff signed in to the internal dashboardAuthorised staff onlyFor the session or a short period
Translator sessionKeeps a sworn translator signed in to their private areaRegistered translators onlyFor the session or a short period

If you are neither staff nor a registered translator, normally none of these cookies will be set in your browser.

Local storage (localStorage)

We keep the drafts you fill in (for example your checklist answers or the details of a translation quote) in your own browser, so you do not lose them if you reload the page or come back later. This data:

  • stays on your device and is not sent to our servers until you confirm your order;
  • is not used to track you or build profiles;
  • can be deleted at any time from your browser settings.

How to manage or delete cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings. If you block technical cookies, the translators' private area or the internal dashboard may not work; if you clear local storage, you will lose any drafts you have not submitted.

The main browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) explain how to do this in their help pages.

Third-party services

When you pay, you are redirected to or shown Stripe's payment form, which may use its own necessary cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's policy.

If this changes

If we ever decide to use cookies that are not strictly necessary (for example, for analytics), we will ask for your consent first through a clear notice that lets you refuse them as easily as accept them, and we will update this policy.
